Aether Release Notes
This is version 1.1.6 of Aether. This release is intended to address two issues with version 1.1.5. All changes since version 1.1.4 are listed below, with changes since 1.1.5 marked with an asterisk.
Improvements
- For contests that use a serial number, the serial number in the TX Exchange is automatically incremented when the option to automatically default to the most recently entered TX Exchange is checked.
- The Cabrillo exporter can now sometimes interpret exchanges without spaces in them when exporting ARRL Sweepstakes logs. It is still recommended that contest exchanges be logged with spaces separating the parts of the exchange.
- microHAM USB Interface II should now be supported for rig control (however, PTT and CW keying are not currently available in Aether).
- Aether now supports exporting Cabrillo format logs for the SPAR Winter Field Day contest.
- Several minor usability improvements.
Bug Fixes
- *Fixed a bug that caused rig control to not work on several Yaesu rigs including the FT-817, FT-847, FT-857 and FT-897.
- *Callsigns with an E7 prefix are now recognized as being from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- Fixed a bug that caused a very long delay and sometimes a crash when performing Select All in large logs.
- ADIF files containing decimal latitude and longitude values are now properly imported.
- Fixed a problem that caused callbook lookup to fail for callbook records containing non UTF8 characters such as certain diacritical marks.
- Fixed a bug that caused rig control of Yaesu FT-450 radios to fail in many cases. FT-450s are now polled for continuous updates of information.
- Fixed a bug that occasionally caused power to be read incorrectly from Elecraft K2 radios.
- Rig control fixes and improvements for several other radios.
- Fixed a bug that caused Aether to read the frequency of VFO A regardless of which VFO was selected on some rigs.
- Changed the way serial ports are configured to accommodate the use of microHAM USB Interfaces.
- Fixed a bug that caused an exception that occurred when one or more space characters were the only thing in the callsign field and a QRZ.com subscriber lookup was attempted.
- Fixed a crash that occurred in certain rare cases where callbook data included malformed address information.
- Several other bug fixes.
Known Issues
- Power setting is not read from most Yaesu rigs. This is because most Yaesu rigs do not support reading this data over the CAT connection. The power field will be hidden for these Yaesu rigs in a future update.
- VoiceOver will not read the time field's value. This is a known issue and will be fixed in a future update.
- Updates are needed for new features in the Italian localization of Aether.
